Clipix is an unbelievably useful tool that lets you save and organize everything you see online, and offline, into one central place. Everything you save is called a "clip". Clips are placed onto your personal clipboards for anything imaginable; articles you want to read, gift ideas, comparison shopping, home decorating–the possibilities are literally endless. It’s free, fun, and changing the way we organize our lives!

A clip is like a visual bookmark. You can save anything you find online as a clip; a pair of shoes, an article, a book you want to read, a gift idea, a funny video...the list goes on. Whenever you see something online that you want to come back to, click the “clip” button. That turns whatever you’re looking at into a clip by giving it an image and a little description. You can also upload files from your computer or mobile device. You can clip text documents, spreadsheets, PDF’s, images and even voice recordings.

You can add clips using the “clip” button. To use this handy little button, you’ll first need to drag the “clip” button to the bookmarks bar in your web browser. Once you’ve added the button to your web browser, just find anything online (that new sofa you’ve had your eye on?) that you’d like to save and press “clip” on your bookmarks bar. A panel opens that let’s you choose a preview image, write a description and select a clipboard to save your clip on. You can even add pricing information for products that you’re saving.

Clips can also be created from files that you upload. For instance, you can upload PDF’s, images, text documents, spreadsheets and more–just press the “clips +” on the bar at the top of your Clipix homescreen.

Clipboards are where your clips live. Any time you see something you want to come back to, put it on one of your clipboards using the “Clip” button. You have six clipboards to get started but you can create as many as you like for any purpose. Plus there’s no limit to the number of clips you can put on a clipboard.

Rearrange your clipboards however you like by dragging from the bottom left corner of a clipboard and moving it to a new position.

In addition to regular clipboards you can also create syncboards and multiboards. Learn about the different types of clipboards.

Sharing clipboards on clipix is about sharing with people who care. To share a clipboard click the  / Share icon in the upper right-hand corner of a clipboard.

Choose “Share as a clipboard” to send a copy of the clipboard to a friend on clipix who will then be able to add it to their own clipix.

Choose “Share as a syncboard” and choose the friends you’d like to start syncing with. When anyone on the syncboard adds a clip you’ll all see it appear in real-time on your own copy of the syncboard. It’s a little something we call “collaborative clipping.”

You can also share a clipboard on Facebook, Twitter, or in an email using the icons in the lower left-hand corner of the clipboard.

Signing up for clipix is unbelievably easy. On the clipix.com homepage you can click “Join with Facebook” to connect to clipix using your pre-existing Facebook account. Or click “Join with Twitter” to connect to clipix using your pre-exsiting Twitter account. If you prefer not to connect with Facebook or Twitter you can also use your regular old email address by clicking “or join with email”.

Before you join with Facebook or Twitter make sure you’re logged in to Facebook.com or Twitter.com in your browser with the account you’d like to use on clipix.

To log in to clipix click “Login” in the upper right-hand corner of the clipix.com homepage. Make sure to log in using the method you originally used to sign up for clipix. So if you signed up with Facebook make sure to log in with Facebook. If you mix and match methods things could get a little messy.

Before you log in with Facebook or Twitter make sure you’re logged in to Facebook.com or Twitter.com in your browser with the account you’d like to use on clipix. For example if Dan Clippers is logging in to clipix using Facebook he should make sure that he’s the one logged into Facebook.com and not Sarah Clippers.

Adding a new clipboard is really simple. In the grey bar at the top of your clipboards page click the icon that appears beside the counter indicating the number of clipboards you have. You’ll see a new clipboard slide into the top row of your clipboards. Just give it a name, set the privacy, and click “Add”. That’s it, you’ve got a new clipboard.

You can also add a new clipboard from the panel that you’d open on a site like Amazon.com. In the menu under “Select Clipboard” choose “Create a new clipboard”.

A multiboard is a collection of clipboards to help you stay organized. For example you might have a multiboard that you call “Recipe Ideas” and inside you’d have 3 clipboards: Baking Recipes, Soup Recipes, and Health Recipes.

The easiest way to create a multiboard is by dragging one clipboard from the icon in the lower left-hand corner into another clipboard. You’ll see your two clipboards in miniature form within a multiboard. You can change the name of the multiboard, rearrange clipboards within a multiboard or click the title of the multiboard to see all the clipboards it contains.

To remove a clipboard from a multiboard when you’re on your main clipboards page, just drag the clipboard out of the multiboard. To remove a clipboard from a multiboard when you have a multiboard open click the icon in the lower left-hand corner of the clipboard that you’d like to remove.

To delete a multiboard click the "trash icon" in its upper right-hand corner. You can choose to just ungroup all of the clipboards, delete some of the clipboards within the multiboard, or delete the multiboard and all of its contents.

A Syncboard lets you collaborate in real time. Create a vacation Syncboard for your family, and everyone can share and clip attractions they want to visit. Syncboards are also great for collaborating on projects with your colleagues, as all Syncboard members can see and comment on clips the instant they're added.

To create a Syncboard click the blue  Share button in the upper left-hand corner of any clipboard. Enter the names of friends or clipix members you’d like to create the Syncboard with. As the creator, you choose who can add clips, and you will be the only one who can delete the clips. You can also allows members to invite others to join the Syncboard, and you have the option to add a personal message on the Syncboard invitation.

Just drag any board from the dots in the lower right-hand corner of the clipboard. Once you’ve grabbed the clipboard, just drag it where you want it and drop it there.

It’s even easier to rearrange your clipboards in the “Compact view” which shrinks your clipboards so you can see them all at once. To access the compact view, when on your “My Clipboards” page, click the triangle beside “My Clipboards” at the top of the page and then select “Compact view”.

To set the privacy of a clipboard click the icon on a clipboard and then select one of the options. A clipboard can be visible to “Only me” which means that you’ll be the only one who can see it, “Only clipix friends” which means that only people you’re friends with on clipix can see it, or “Everyone” which means that anyone will be able to see the clipboard.

You can also change the privacy of each of your clipboards by going to preferences (click the arrow next to your name in the menu at the top of the page; select Preferences) > Privacy Preferences > Visibility.

You can also change the privacy of your whole account.

To change the name of a clipboard click the icon next to the name of the clipboard. Type in a new name for the clipboard and then click save.

Note: You can’t change the name of a syncboard that belongs to someone else.

To delete a clipboard click the icon in the upper right-hand corner of the clipboard.

Note: if you delete a syncboard that you created, everyone else on the syncboard will no longer be able to sync with one another but will keep the clipboard as a regular clipboard.

You can share a clipboard:

Via clipix: Send a clipboard to a clipix friend by clicking the  / Share icon on one of your clipboards and selecting “Share as a clipboard”. Then just enter the names of the clipix friends you’d like to share it with. You can also share a clipboard with people not yet on clipix using their email addresses. They’ll then be able to add a copy of the clipboard to their own clipix or just take a look.

As a syncboard

Via Facebook, Twitter or Email: Click one of the icons in the lower right-hand corner of the clipboard.

You add clips from the web using something we call the “Clip” button. Before you start clipping you’ll need to drag this button to your bookmarks toolbar in your web browser. It looks like other bookmarks you might have for your favorite sites except when you click your “Clip” button it opens a little window on the page you’re on rather than going to a new page. You can get the “Clip” button here.

You can upload a clip from a picture you have on your computer by clicking the "Clips +" button in the grey bar at top of the page where you see all your clips and then selecting “Upload a clip from your computer”.

You can also upload a number of different documents like Word documents and PDFs.

Edit a clip by clicking the icon in the upper right-hand corner of the clip. You can then choose a new image for the clip, change the description, change the price associated with the clip or move it to a different clipboard.

Delete a clip by clicking the icon in the upper right-hand corner of the clip.

You can move a clip from one clipboard to another by grabbing the clip on the bottom right corner, and dragging it to another clipboard from your homescreen.

You can also move a clip by selecting another clipboard when you’re editing the clip.

You may notice that when clipping a product you have the option to check off a box that says, “Price drop alert.” This option lets you choose to be notified when the price of the product falls below a certain price (or percentage) you choose. Just set your price, clip the product, and we’ll do the rest. You’ll notice that clips with price drop alert set have an orange circle or orange price tag them. When the clip hits your target price the clip will have a green price tag on it; you’ll also receive an email and a notification informing you of the clip’s current price.

To edit or remove a price drop alert click the pencil icon on the clip and edit your target price or uncheck the box beside “Price drop alert” to remove it.

Clip and archive emails from any of your email accounts by forwarding them to your unique clipix email. Forwarded emails will be automatically saved in PDF format onto a default clipboard called "Clipped Emails." You can later move the clipped emails to any of your clipboards. For your security, and to prevent spam, you must first authorize the email address(es) you plan to clip emails from onto an "approved" list in your preferences. Once you’ve added a new email address check that email for a confirmation. Once authorized, you can forward any emails you’d like to clip to your Clipix account.

If we receive email clips for your account from an email address that you have not authorized, you will get a notification pop up on Clipix with instructions for how to proceed. You will then have the opportunity to receive the email clips by authorizing the email account. Alternatively, you can choose to decline the email clips in the unlikely event that they are spam. In the rare circumstance that you receive spam attempts, just go to the "Clipping Emails" section in your preferences, and press "generate new" to create a new, unique email address to clip emails to.

Go to Preferences (click the arrow next to your name in the menu at the top of the page; select Preferences). Click the first line where it says “Name” and then type in the name that you’d like to go by on clipix. People will search for you by this name so going by your real name is best.

Go to Preferences (click the arrow next to your name in the menu at the top of the page; select Preferences). Choose “Email preferences”. Then just uncheck the boxes next to any of the email notifications that you don’t want to receive.

Go to Preferences (click the arrow next to your name in the menu at the top of the page; select Preferences). Choose “Connections”. If you signed up using Facebook/Twitter, your account will be linked with Facebook/Twitter. Linking your account with Facebook or Twitter will make it easier to find friends on clipix.

You can easily unlink Facebook/Twitter from your clipix account. To do so just click “Connections” and then select “Disconnect from Facebook” or “Disconnect from Twitter”. If you signed up with Facebook/Twitter and disconnect from that connection you’ll be prompted to create an email login so you’ll be able to access your account in the future.

Go to Preferences (click the arrow next to your name in the menu at the top of the page; select Preferences). Choose “Language”. There you can choose the language in which you’d like to use clipix.

This flag represents that the individual or entity has been certified, and is recognized as authentic. Certified accounts are completely at our discretion and undergo our own review processes. If you wish to be considered for a certified account, please send an email to: certifications@clipix.com. Replies are sent at our discretion.

To become friends with someone on clipix just search for their name in the search bar at the top of your page. Click their name to go to their profile and then click the blue “Add friend” button. If you’re having trouble finding someone you can try searching for the person’s email address or Twitter name.

After becoming friends with someone on clipix you can see clipboards that are only visible to their friends. You will also be able to see their clips in your "Friends" section on the clipix community, comment on their clips, and send them private messages.

You can categorize someone as an acquaintance (a bit less than a friend—they won't know) for additional privacy.

You can unfriend someone by returning to their clipboards page (by searching for their name), clicking the button below their name that says “Friends”, and selecting “Unfriend”.

Share on clipix: Send a clipboard to a clipix friend by clicking the icon on your clipboard and selecting the icon. Then, enter the names of the clipix members you’d like to share the clipboard with. They’ll be able to view the clipboard you sent them and have the option to keep a copy of it on their own clipix account.

Share via email or on social networks: You can also share a clipboard with people not yet on clipix using the or icons.

You can share a clip with a friend by opening the clip and then clicking any of the social icons in the column to the right of the clip. You can share on clipix, Facebook, Twitter, by email, or by embedding it.

Clicking the button for “Community” at the top of your page will bring you to the community area of clipix. There you can see a live stream of clips your friends are adding and see public clips from all the members on clipix. You can also explore by category in the "Travel & Leisure" or the "Health & Wellness" sections.

The "SUBSCRIBE" button  Subscribe  allows you to get updates every time a clip is added to that particular clipboard. Once subscribed, a copy of the clipboard will appear on your clipix account.

The "SUBSCRIBE +" button  Subscribe + allows you to get updates every time a clip is added to that particular clipboard AND allows you to submit your own clips for consideration. Once subscribed, a copy of the clipboard will appear on your clipix account. Clips displaying the certified flag on a "SUBSCRIBE +"  Subscribe + clipboard are clips that were added by certified users.

To set the privacy of a clipboard click the icon on a clipboard and then select one of the options. A clipboard can be visible to “Only me” which means that you’ll be the only one who can see it, “Only clipix friends” which means that only people you’re friends with on clipix can see it, or “Everyone” which means that anyone will be able to see the clipboard.

You can also change the privacy of each of your clipboards by going to your preferences (click the arrow next to your name in the menu at the top of the page; select Preferences) > Privacy Preferences > Visibility.

You can choose for your account not to display in search engines by going to your preferences (click the arrow next to your name in the menu at the top of the page; select Preferences) > Privacy Preferences > Search Engines.

We take copyright seriously. A watermark is placed on clips in order to protect the property of original content creators. We believe that those who create original work and own the rights should never have to worry about others unlawfully using their work. Clipix is about saving all the things you see online and want to come back to – come back to the original source.

If you own the rights to a clip and agree to the terms and conditions you can remove the watermark by clicking the pencil icon on the clip and selecting “remove watermark” below the image. You must then agree to the terms and conditions, whereupon you can remove the watermark. Note: we take copyright seriously. Do not remove the watermark unless you are sure that you are really abiding by the terms and conditions.

If you accidentally created more than one account you can easily deactivate the one that you’d no longer like to use. If there are any clipboards from the inactive account that you’d like to save, send them to the active account. You can do so by clicking the icon on any clipboard, selecting “Share as a regular clipboard” and sending it to your active account.

You can then deactivate the account you no longer use by going to your preferences (Click the arrow next to your name in the menu at the top of the page. Then select preferences), and selecting “Deactivate”. Your account will be deleted and all your clips will be lost so make sure you really want to deactivate your account!

If you can’t clip anything, it’s likely because your browser is blocking third-party cookies, which is what we use to keep you logged in to the “Clip” button. You can either enable third-party cookies or create an exception for http://www.clipix.com.
